Greetings again folks. I have a friend with a S&W Model 10-9 that I might be interested in buying. It's an RHKP model which I am sure means Royal Hong Kong Police. It's serial nukber is BBH3727 and I was wondering if anyone here had more info on such a model maybe. It is in excellent, like new condition, and has the lanyard ring on the butt. Thanks in advance...

I saw one go for $250 on GB a while back if that helps.

SCSW indicates some 13000 were traded in for new guns in the 1980's, some are well worn and others like new in box, wish I had one, I don't think the markings will bring much more of a premium, and I would pay for it as I would any other Model 10, ANIB would be worth $350 to me, some guys are paying more and some less.

Thanks everyone for your replies here. I have decided to go ahead and pass on this piece and wait it out for my 686.

I have a 686 and a Mod 10, but that sounds like a nice shooter to have. If it was laying around in a shop near me like new and in the 200 to 250 range, I might have two Model 10's now. :D

I used to have a Mod 33 (.38 S&W), but traded it. Wish I had it back. That will cost me one of these days. :)

In Warner Robins, Ga my friend and I both picked up mint RHKP model 10's for $180 each at a gun/pawn shop.

Thor - Recently? Does this pawn shop have any left and if so, would you share the name and number of the establishment?

They will negotiate and have a selection of good condition firearms of ALL sorts. Warner Robins is a military town (Robins AFB) and there is a lot of interest in shooting. Lots of good hunting in the area also.

The RHKP Model 10s my buddy and I bought were in mint condition. Some blue wear where they had been sitting in an armory rack but had never been more than test fired. Crisp? You bet.

Thanks, I'll give them a call tomorrow - you recall how many they had left?
