I ran across a S&W Model 19-4 nickel finish, four inch barrel, .357 this afternoon. Mechanically it appears to pass all the tests with flying colors. The only concern is some holster wear near the muzzle. Asking price, $350. Good one? Thanks!

In my area, assuming tight lock-up, timing checks out, and no evidence of erosion/flame-cutting around the forcing cone, with only minimal wear around the muzzle ... 350 would be -- in my opinion -- a very fair price for a nickeled finish 19-4. I've seen blued 4" 19-4s with moderate wear going for $450 - 475 around here.

I'd certainly buy the piece at that price; P&R 19s are my favorite revolvers and they seem to be getting more difficult to find (at least at reasonable prices) everywhere.

For a mechanically sound 19-4 with a little wear on it that sounds like a good price. I bought a blued 4" with a more wear than what you are describing for $325 a little while back. I would definitely pick that one up if I was you.

If the "wear" is down to bare metal, flaking, that's about a fair price but you will have to baby that area. If you just mean it shows some marks to the nickel that don't ruin it's plating and integrity, then it's a pretty darn good price.

I bought a NIB blued one a while back for a bit more. It's still NIB although I did intend to shoot it. Just have other 357's to shoot. $350 is a very fair price.

I stole this one for $260.00. All I had to do was, clean it and put new grips on it. Tackdriver!
