S&W MP15-22 Good for small game headshots?

Pretty easy. I was wondering if the MP 15-22 could make head shots on small game at roughly 25-35yds.

Figured it'd be cheaper to buy just the one rifle instead of one for game and one for fun.

Yea it would do that just fine, especially if paired with a decent red dot sight.

I was actually leaning toward a 3x9 for this.

I may swap it out for a good red dot when I run my steel shooting sessions.

A 3-9x is a good bit too much for that gun. A 1-4x or even a fixed 4x is more than enough.

My 15-22 has a Weaver classic 1-3X mounted on a primary arms AR mount. This is a great set up. The last trip i only saw 5 squirrels, but had 4 head shots. The head shots were from 15 to 35ish yards. It is very easy for head shots with this set up. I was surprised how easy. I knew the gun shot great groups, but wow. My mod 60 might not ever go out again.

I don't think you need more than 4X for squirrel. My mod 60 has an bushnell 4X that does great. The Weaver 1-3X is more than i need. The Weaver has better glass.
