The local "big box" has them on sale for $269. I'm typically not a fan of striker fire and I like seeing a hammer in the down position. But, I also seem to have amassed a collection of 9mm so its dumb to go for another caliber unless this is junk.

So, does anyone have one and how is the accuracy and reliably.

A very good price for NIB. I have one I got used for $100. It goes bang and hits the target but I find it kind of cheap feeling with a kind of marginal trigger.

Good Pistol.....

I have a Sigma SW9VE. It has a very heavy trigger (like a DA revolver) but other than that, I've had no problems with over 4000 rounds through it. In fact, no failures at all. Dependable, accurate, inexpensive and a great, no B.S. warranty if needed.
It's not my favorite range pistol by a long shot but great as a car or a home defense weapon. Learn trigger control with the Sigma and you will be a better shot with anything.

i've had one for over two years. $269 is a good deal. in over 2,000 rounds, i've only had two problems with jamming; they were both mag related. it's not match grade accurate, but plenty accurate enough for self defense. if you want to shoot more than 50 yards, you should have a rifle. my sigma is my primary carry piece.

TxPhanton, why isn't it your favorite range gun? Is it due to the feel or is there something else?

I want something with quality but I'm not looking for a $700 jewel.

Those of you buying a Smith & Wesson Sigma or M&P series pistol NIB make
certain that you get your dealer coupon from your sales professional; as
these are good thru 30 April '08, for two free magazines, + a $50 cash
rebate. I'm sure that some dealers are not telling customers of this offer;
but I have completed many rebate certificates for our customers myself.
All that is needed by Smith, is a verifiable serial number and a copy of
the paid receipt~! ;) :D

FootNote: Deals are also available on Smith & Wesson M&P AR-15's~!

I think the Sigma is as good quality wise as any polymer gun out there. The trigger, which seems to be everyone's beef, can be made much better for little or no money. My SW40VE has had the trigger worked over and is very reliable and the accuracy is darn good. For the money, from a company like S&W, you just can't go wrong...........
