I have a .40 Sigma and am looking to remove one of the two trigger springs to lighten the pull. If anyone has done this, I'd appreciate instructions. Thanks in advance. Nice forum btw, glad a friend showed me.

http://smith-wessonforum.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/580103904/m/1031000282?r=5661052282 -- here's one that involves cutting springs and smoothing the sear surfaces. You could remove either of the doubled springs from the sear block to lighten the pull, too.

Apparently, though, S&W put both of those springs in there due to reliability problems with a single spring in earlier models.

I had a SW9VE for a while last year, and I didn't find the trigger that heavy. A little gritty, sure, but not too heavy.

The 'gritty' should smooth out after firing a couple hundred rounds through it. I just bought the 9mm version and after the first 100 rounds, it's already more smooth than out of the box. You can also get some snap caps and go to town!

Thanks for all the replies. I've never broken this one all the way down, but it has been through around 500 rounds. I will admit it has gotten smoother, but I'm not the best keeping down the push and pull my finger does when shooting. My accuracy isn't terrible, but I know I'm a bit better on a cocked revolver. I'd like to close that gap a bit and this seems to be the trick. Thanks for the good information and quick replies.
