I understand that the grip frame of a GP100 is obviously different that of a S&W K/L frame, but I haven't seen any GP100 grips that I like. Does anyone make this style of grip for the GP100?

My experience with Eagle has been the same, and they refused to refund my money.

Personally while the old original S&W look very nice and are traditional when it comes time to shoot the gun they leave much to be desired. They're not shaped to fit a human hand and do not allow you to achieve a consistent grip every time like Hogue's designs do. You cannot judge a grip by the way it looks. Your hand has to tell you what works or not. Ruger designed the grip frame of the GP, SP, and Redhawk revolvers to be able to easily accept a grip of almost any design. Brilliant idea. Problem was, none of the grip manufacturers seemed interested in coming up with much. The original GP 100 grips that were soft rubber with wood inserts actually work very well. (ask my wife, she won a few matches with a stock GP 100) I shot a lot of competition and after trying some Hogues on a couple of guns I understood why his designs were in demand with people who really shoot a lot. You simply cannot pick up a Hogue gripped revolver without instantly acheiveing the exact same hand position every time. The guy really understood how a hand interacts with a revolver and how inportant a consistent grip is. Hogues are available with or without finger grooves and come checkered or smooth and can be had in some truly beautifully grained exotic woods. Check them out. A lot of people think Hogues are butt ugly but they do work very well.

Herrett's will fit a set of their stocks to a GP. It requires shipping the gun to them for fitment, which is at least $50 each way and then I think the fitting charge was $150. Not an inexpensive proposition.

The original style grips are much more comfortable to me than anything Hogue ever made.

I want a set of stocks for my S&W Model 19 that are shaped exactly like the original GP100 factory grip! ;)

Rexter ,the closest thing you`ll get for your 19 is a set of pachmyer presentation grips .

I have a set on my model 10 rite now !

The factory grips on a GP fit fine to my hand & ya can interchange panels as well as get some thicker or thinner to fit the palm of ya hand !

I`m rite handed & I have a set that`s `bout a 1/8 " thicker than factory that are perfect

I won't buy from Eagle Grips again either. Too poor a fit for the money they charge.

I will however buy from Badger Custom again. The price is right and the quality is better. They don't sell S&W style grips for the GP100 but they do sell "combat style" grips. They work very well on the revolvers I have them on. I'm sorry but I have never seen S&W target style grips for the GP100 anywhere. They were made for the Six-Series revolvers but not for their replacement.

My SW 586 came with a set of the Goncalo Alves wood Combat Grips. They did look nice, but fit my hands horribly, finally put some Hogue rubber grips on it and it feels & shoots great now. I'll swap the wood back on if I ever decide to sell (never), but rubber grips are my choice.

If you really want a set for a GP100, go with the checkered Hogue G A wood grips above.
