1. I hate to do this to y'all, but the migration went well, then I broke THR by trying to recompile software. Rather than leave THR down for 12+ hours as I try to fix this, I just reverted back to the old server.

This means data entered on THR tonight is gone. I'm sorry. It's the best I can do right now though.

I'm going to get some sleep and try this another way tomorrow.

Again, I'm sorry for the loss of data and resulting confusion.

Just received new 12"twist bbl. Gunsmith who is cutting the chamber said (22/250)"Standard SAAMI reamer will work, with room to seat bullets out farther if I want to touch the lands" . Others say they detest SAAMI reamers in custom bbls ,another says with zero free bore I can get an additional 1,000 rnds of bbl life . What say ye ?

I prefer min spec reamers which do not cut the leads/free bore. This allows me to use a throating reamer to set it for my use.

Set it for what your going to shoot the most.

Example: I just got through cutting a 223R chamber for my AR. I used a min spec reamer, which only gives 0.025" of lead/free bore, the std avg is 0.055". This is ideal if I shoot 65-69gr bullets, giving me a ~0.020" jump. But if I want to shoot 52gr bullets I will have to shorten the my OAL. The std OAL puts me 0.035" into the bore. I have one barrel (cut with the same reamer) in which I lengthen the free bore to shoot the light bullets. This one will be for the heavier bullets, has a slightly faster twist.

The 22/250 is a barrel burner. I would recommend going for the shorter throat.
