Sako 85S - ever heard of it?

Really high-quality rifle came into the shop. It’s a.Sako 85S in 308.

The condition is near New

I can’t seem to find anything online about it.

what do you rifle people think?

… no seriously what do you think about it? It does come with a really nice scope. Everything about that gun is quality and it’s new but it’s in the use rack.

I think S just stands for Short

I never liked the 85's but i wasnt interested in the short or longs, and the magnums were known for tossing shells into scopes.....they were good guns otherwise
the Fierce is a copy of the 85 i think.

I should add its been a while since i considered one, haven't really been into Sakos since the A5s so I could be off base on the terminology.....granted i own and really like an S20....

.....as to the actual question.....which i forgot to answer. Very well made, usually very accurate, standard cartridges should run fine, wood lools prety decent from what i can see..... Id buy it and i dont like .308s, heck the scope is basically free on that gun

308 is just perfect for the pnw, and a beautiful rifle makes for a good hunting companion. Besides, that scope won't fog up on cool mornings around here. It's a good price on a great package deal.

wow… they are really up there in price. $1100-$1500 for the gun

probably $1600 on the used market.

I like Sako rifles, though I only own one. Like @LoonWulf said, I am also not a big 308 Win guy although I own 3. Sako rifles are usually pretty well made and overall a step above a Remington or Winchester, IMO.
