Finally got around to posting a picture of my Christmas present.

Can't wait till October, so I can prowl around the black timber looking for elk.

Is that a Big Medicine .405?

I've always been intrigued with that round. You'll have to let us know how it shoots!

Well actually it is kinda "Medium Medicine", it's a NIB .270 Win.;)
The years they offered the .30-06 model, they also had 1895s chambered for .270. Since the chances of me going to Africa to shoot it out with lions and buffaloes are pretty slim, I think this will work just fine for my "Medicine". With all due respect to TR, of course.

Thinking of getting a barrel band swivel mounted, and a nice fat Pachmahr pad. Then it will be off to the high country come October!
