Wondering what other folks experience with Sarco might be. I ordered a few items back in August and still haven't received them. They haven't charged my credit card yet so I'm not too concerned but it is irritating. I called them twice in the last few months and they said it was weird that it hadn't shipped but they would look into it. Anyone else have this kind of experience with them?

It could be that like Gun Parts, they don't charge you if something is unavailable, but they don't TELL you either. Five or so years ago, I tried to order a .45LC cylinder for my New Service from Gun Parts. It never came and I never heard anything. Finally I called and was told they were out of them.

This is why I prefer to order stuff over the PHONE, rather than online or email. I bought a Rock Island Armory 1911 Compact from Sarco once, and it was here in 3 days. But I did the deal over the phone, and had her verify that they had what I wanted, she even gave me the serial number of it.

IMO, people get too used to online purchasing, and assume that as soon as they send the order, someone is right there to take it off the computer and run with it. They may not actually do that for days afterwards. Only Midway has ever done that for me, Cabelas is good too.

I think Midway just has us all spoiled. They have a website that works. Heck it even tells you when something is backordered.

The original order was over the phone.... they should have the items in stock as they were advertising them again in the latest Shotgun News.

It all depends on the mail-order shop. A lot of the bigger ones link their inventory system and even their stock replenishment system to their mail order system and the site will tell you up front if it is out of stock, and sometimes how backordered they are on it. The larger the store is, the better system and/or programmers they can afford.
