Best bang for the buck has been the Savage 10FP "Tactical" from Cabelas with the new Chaote Tactical Stock IMO - $649. Or if you really want to build. Stevens action, custom trigger, stock and barrel.

stevens 200, trigger job, bell and carlson carbelite stock (i dont know how to spell it but mine works), dednutz game reaper mount/rings and whatever scope you like, if you trust yourself not to screw up then i suppose you could glass bed the thing but mine's a shooter now and it didn't cost much.

Looking to build a .5 moa rifle for some long range shooting. Weights not an issuse, so a heavy 20 some inch barrel is what I am looking for.

Whats a good length for a 0.8xx" diameter barrel with 150-165 grain bullets? I have heard 22-26", but I know theres got to be a sweet spot for length/deflection.
