Smoothed out all of the internals, squared up the set screws in trigger, buggered up the barrel getting it off, shortened barrel 5/8", threaded for can, large custom bolt handle, polished bolt and internals, painted a two tone desert camo type, factory stock with mercury recoil reducer glassed into rear at butt pad, large 13" custom can for 30 cal, weighs in close to 20 Lbs

nice...i'm working on a .223 action that i bought from a guy that has a Shilen #7 barrel, recoil lug, trued (bolt and action). i pulled my 10 FP out of my Choate varmint for this one no i have to open the channel just a little and bed the action. after that it's need to be re-blued or painted.

I have the savage 10 FP, in .308 and love this rifle.
I plan on adding a new trigger (SSS) and new stock (un-decided yet). Then I will go for the new scope to replace a Bushnell 6x20 Scopechief (not the greatest).

this is what was in the stock before i bought the barreled action in the previous photo. my 308 is now back in it's crappy stock. now i have to decide what stock to get for the 308

Very very nice! I just picked up my 10FP in .308, and am considering all sorts of options once I see how she shoots.

No pictures to upload ... yet, but I have 2 10FPs: one in .308 with the Sharp Shooter Supply trigger and the other in .223 with the Savage AccuTrigger. Both sweet shootin' rifles.

both my .223 and .308 have the stock triggers (not Accu-trigger) adjusted down to 1lb 12oz. safties work and the sear doesn't trip unless the trigger is pulled.

the 308 i was getting just under 1 MOA. i haven't gotten a chance to shoot the .223 yet.
info from the person that i bought the barreled action from:
"The guy that put it together is Jack Keister Of Accurate Arms. He was small potatoes until the North American Elk Federation ask him to put together a rifle for there banquet a few years ago. Then some of the Highpower Benchrest Shooters found him and subsequently wrote an article in there magazine. The bolt was trued, the lugs where lapped, the action was trued and the Savage barrel nut was replaced with Remington recoil lug that was surfaced ground and made true. I had a clone rifle that consistently shot .25 " at 100 yards with my handload. The reason I like the heavy barrel is that heat does not cause point of impact to shift from heat and you can watch the bullet strike through good scope. If you use the Choate stock you already have aluminum v-blocks supporting the action and as I mentioned before the forearm needs pillar bedded with something good like Devcon or Acraglas with powdered metal to support it and take the strain of the action."
best of all, i got the barreled action for $250 shipped. the Shilen barrel alone is around $250
