That's not quite true. Savage made an intermediate 110 action that was a bit shorter than the 110 but longer than the 10. This matters only if you're getting a stock from an internet auction or from a guy locally. But, there's no secret to it. Simply measure the distance between the two action screws and make sure what ever you buy has that same measurement. As long as it does, it will fit.
Also, the statement about the Stevens being a pre-accutrigger model is halfway correct (and I mean that without flaming). It isn't semantics, but the Stevens uses the current Savage receiver profile but the older style trigger. This is important because the older 110 style scope mount bases will not fit the Stevens OR accutrigger Savages. If you find a deal on an older Redfield Jr. base for a 110, it won't work on the Stevens. Ditto for Weaver or Leupod bases.
