A friend has a Savage 99, pre WWII in 30-30. It has a half octigon, half round barrel. I have not seen it but he claims it is 90%. Any idea on the value?
Thanks, John K
Savage 99s are, more so than many other guns, really regional in their popularity and their values.
Prices in Pennsylvania, where I'm from, tend to go a bit higher because the 99 was pretty popular there, and you tend to see a LOT of them at gun shows.
But, farther south, they apparently weren't as popular, and you don't see as many and the prices are a lot more variable.
