I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the B&C Duramax stock for a savage rifle? Do they work well? I have read mostly good things some bad about fit and the frontend flexing but they are resonable and look good in pics. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I had one on my Savage 12FVSS in .308. It was a definite improvement over the factory stock. (pre-centerfeed whiz-bang accustock) It I liked it but ended up upgrading to the B&C Medalist and I love it. I should have just saved my money and put it into the medalist in the first place.

The duramaxx was pretty much drop-in as advertised, the only work I did on it was to free float the tang area.

I guess the Medalist is a lot better and worth the extra money? I want one for my Model 10FP tactical 20" 308 and my Model 12V 22-250.I was wondering if there is much difference between all the different options. Is the Accustock not any good?
Thanks

I also just installed a medalist on a savage 308, pre center feed. shot it for the first time this past weekend and it improved my groups and is much more comfortable to shoot also. better ergonomics for me. No experience with dura max but +1 for the medalist.

Whether it is worth it or not just depends on what you want it for. My .308 is set up for long distance range sessions. Its not used for hunting or personal defense so the medalist suits me perfectly. I don't think it improved the accuracy of the rifle, but it does improve the accuracy of the shooter because it is a stable, comfortable platform that makes it easy (for me) to obtain proper cheek weld, eye relief and hand position. It's also bulkier and less portable than the duramaxx so if you plan to shoot from an unsupported position it may not be the best.

Didn't mean to disparage the Accustock. I haven't shot one but it looks like a really cool idea and the reviews seem favorable. Whenever I get off of this Kalashnikov obsession of mine and get back to bolt guns I will probably get one.

I want my Savage tactical to be a bench gun only. My Savage 22-250 is a varmint rig so it does hunt but it is heavy so not much other than varmints.
Thanks

The Accustock is awesome! For its intention, it is probably the best OEM Synthetic Sporter stock made.

The B&C Duramax stock is great, if you would have to do any fitting to your barreled action, I would be surprised.

The Medalist is a laid-up fiberglass type stock and the model that B&C makes, for a Bench and or Tactical unit,is great also. No fitting should have to be done, but there is always the exception, but the work needed to make the barreled action fit correctly would be minimal and I bet you could do it yourself!
