I took my brand new Savage F/TR to the ranges today.
Several "firsts" for me, first .308, first bolt action, first .308 hand loads, and the first time I've ever shot that small of a group with a rifle. :D
I think I'm going to try this again tomorrow. Maybe I can tighten it up just a little.

Check the pics, they illustrate nicely.

I'm guessing it's your first Savage. I started shooting them a few years ago, and I might be tempted to get another brand. But I haven't. The reason Savage's just shoot. My last buy is a Model 10 FCP. You're groups will stay small. Keep shooting!

Great shooting! My 10FP don't like factory ammo either, well at least non match factory ammo;)

Nice! It doesn't surprise me that your rifle doesn't like 180gr bullets as they weren't properly stabalized. The Savage Arms F/TR has a 1-12" bbl the optimum bullet is the 168gr SMK. For 175gr pills the 1-11.25" bbl would be better (faster twist). This is why 1-10" bbls are common for needing to shoot heavy for caliber (longer) bullets.
