Savage model 64 mag wearing?

anyone had any luck on fixing this wear problem. Wore out after 200 shots. Gunsmith help please.
 
The mags are made of cast zinc and aren't terribly durable, but shouldn't be "wearing out" after 200 rounds, either. What exactly happened to it?
