So today I picked up a savage/springfield 840E. I got it with the intention of using it for varminting and the likes, but I've got a few questions. First, is it possible to put a sling and bipod on this rifle if it has no swivel studs? Also, is it possible to adjust the trigger (it's awfully heavy) or are there any aftermarket triggers available? thanks

Heard good things about these rifles...not as fancy as some but good shooters!

What caliber is yours? .22 hornet, 222, 223, or 30-30?

A good gunsmith can help with the sling swivels...if you don't think you want to tackle it. But, my local wallyworld has Uncle Mike's sling-swivel kits cheap.

    Mine's chambered in .222
I may have to look into these kits...
