Phantom Captain....that's the way a Thompson is supposed to look!

Thanks, I totally agree!! I had wanted it to look right for years and finally went ahead and got the stamp to shorten the barrel and make it "right". It's definitely one of my favorites now and a complete head turner wherever I bring it.

Well mine is back from the engraver but I can't send in my form because of the shutdown. :banghead:

Not Quite SBR. Form sent in Mid Feb. I'm checking my mail every day!

I will post my SBR configuration as soon as I get my stamp!

Meanwhile:

The mail is still running. Nothing stopping you from sending the form. They just won't open the mail until they return to work.

E-Forms are still down but there is a lady at the desk and she is willing to answer questions now (she could not type serial numbers during the "shutdown" slowdown?).
My 3 Form 1s (2 SBSs and 1 SBR) went second pending on 10/8!!!

Forms Sent: 2/25/2013
Checks Cached: 3/12/2013
First Pending: 4/20/2013
Second Pending: 9/10/2013

Soon!!!

Mike

Horsedude - overseas right now so no pics but at home in the safe are an AAC .300 9" and a DD MK18 .223 10.3". Put them on pistol lowers and waiting for that long-overdue stamp for the "multiple" caliber rifle lower.

You can send it and Treasury will cash your check but won't get looked at for a while anyway, even without the shutdown. My times in 2012-13:

From cashed $200 check to "pending" BATFE review: 3 mos
From "pending" BATFE review to stamp issue: 9-10 mos

Killing me.

I'm not familiar with "second pending," Mike. Do we know what that means? Perhaps I've never inquired after the initial pending, so I never heard about this.

Aaron
In recent months (looking at NFATracker.com data is appears to have started in May) the ATF added research assistants (I think they a paralegal types on contract) who review the applications by the same criteria examiners used to and then pass them on to the examiner who has the signature authority and the stamps. When the assistant approves, you go to "Second Pending". Most people are reporting 2-4 weeks between second pending and stamp and then as much as 1-2 to arrive.

She was clear mine was not approved yet so I suspect it was close before the slowdown.
