Never heard of it.
I don't see a price, do you know how much it costs?

List $1945 usual asking prices $1850+|-50. Things made in "4th Reich" as Germany is affectinately called are a little more expensive to buy.

wouldn't spend 5 bucks on it... Crappy pics but you can see the poor Grip Safety fitment for a gun in that price range + Thumb Safety looks like its from an air gun.

Never heard of this particular company before, excluding of course the name of Schmeisser. Their website seems a little bit dodgy and kind of like a work in progress. Would like to know more about the company and see actual photos/videos and read some detailed reviews of their guns before I would even remotely consider them.

Kinda cool, I guess, but I don't know if I would invest in a new product from a small boutique manufacturer half a world away when there are so many good 1911 choices made here with known quality and good customer support.

I agree it would be stupid of me to pick this over Dan Wesson CZ 1911.

Thank you. I just read the Wikipedia article on Hugo Schmeisser. After WWII he was forced to work for the Soviets and he died in 1953. So it’s unclear what this outfit has to do with him. Like the other posters, I wouldn’t spend my money based on unsubstantiated advertising. Oh, and the tag line “The Final Evolution” is reminiscent of “The Final Solution”. Coincidence?

There are a lot of companies that have no real connection with the original of the name.
Springfield Armory, for example.

Occurs to me that Germany has usually been on good terms with Turkey.
I doubt the gun is 100% made in Germany.

I don't mean to be rude, but I think it's perfectly obvious what this outfit's connection with Hugo Schmeisser is: Nothing whatsoever, really. They needed a catchy name, and they found one.

And I would be surprised if this gun is even 10% made in Germany. There are a large number of "German" watches on the market today, all of which are made in China. They all have impeccably German names, though.

Perfectly obvious to some, but those of us who aren’t clairvoyant have to do a little research. Both Mauser and Walther were re-established after the war, something similar might have occurred with Schmeisser.

Actually, it's just pretty obvious to folk that are willing to read:

Schmeisser GmbH was founded by the partners Thomas Hoff and Andreas Schumacher on the basis of more than 20 years of firearms business experience. One of the earliest projects was the production of the AR-15 type semi-automatic rifle for civil use and the fully automatic M16 type for the domestic and foreign police and military markets.

It's been 73 years since the end of the war. If Schmeisser or anyone with a direct connection to him was going to get back into the gun business, you would have heard about it by now. OTOH, I guess someone might think Packard or Studebaker was still in the car business in some way, shape, or form, and was now introducing a car with their name on it (even if they made little or no part of it).
