I have a handgun scope mounted on my Dan Wesson with rimfire rings on the vent rib, using electrical tape as a buffer. But I want to mount it right. Brownell's or Midway have anything? Anyone else?

B Square use to make a mount that clamped to the vent rib (barrel shroud) on Dan Wessons. It has been out of prouduction for a couple of years, but they occasionaly come up for sale on the Dan Wesson Forum and E bay.

The only other way your going to do it right is to have the top strap or rib drilled and tapped for a base.

I agree with rklessdriver. Here is a mount from Jack Weigand but requires drilling and tapping. I have also been told that B-Square is producing the Dan Wesson mount again. The mounts on B-Square's site are pricy though.

I believe the newer shrouds come drilled and tapped already at least on the 445 (which is now discountinued).

Looks like you can get the b-square mount from SWFA for less:

You might want to visit the Dan Wesson Forum for more info as well.

This is not a quicky bolt-on solution, but one I preferred to what was available commercially. Bought an extra barrel shroud, had the rib milled down to accept Warne quick release rings and bases. The bases are no higher than the original rib, so scope can be removed quickly for use of open sights.

Do you remember which Warne base you used? Very nice solution!
