I just put a Savage 10FCP 308 DBM with McMillan stock on lay-away.
It will need a good scope mount.
I was thinking of a Ken Farrell one-piece mount.
Is there something even better out there, or is this one pretty good?

You can't go wrong with a Farrell mount. End of discussion!

I've been happy with my Farrells, except for not needing the 20 MOA. Probably need it for a 308. Dednutz makes a neat one piece mount with integral rings now, and I think you can get them with MOA adjustment.

That was actually going to be my next question. MOA?

Where I shoot, the longest shot possible is probably 400 meters.
Would a -0-MOA mount be fine for this, or do I need a 20 MOA or some other MOA?

So Farrell seems to be a good choice. I appreciate the input on this.

How much adjustment does your scope have? If it has enough, you probably don't need a 20 MOA at 400 yards, even if you're lobbing 308s. I'd look at EGW bases too.

I don't know how much adjustment my scope has, because I don't have a scope yet. Can't decide what to get.

I'm starting with the rifle first, then a base, then some 30mm rings, and then finally choose a scope.

The deadnuts mount has integral rings. I like mine.
