I used to be able to do that with my naked eye, sadly no more.I’d have a hard time seeing a 1/4” hole at 20 yards in the black.
Thanks for all in the input. Friend settled on a Vortex Crossfire II 6-18x44. I haven't seen the setup yet, and don't know if they can actually see holes at 200, but I know both the son and dad are happy.
That is pretty surprising. I’ve used the exact same Nikon and was underwhelmed.The Zeiss Terra 3-9x42 is very disappointing. My $150 Nikon P-223 3x is clearer than this scope. A complete waste of money. I can't see .22 bullet holes in the white at 100.
