Hello.
What are a few good choices for adding a scope to my .44? (S&W Model 29, 6.5" bbl.)

Burris 2-7x32 on my contender works great. I like having the drop hashes for .22s. I've had good luck with the budget friendly cabelas 6 shooter scope, also a 2-7, but no drop hashes. That one stays on my 223 barrel for that reason.

I have different ones for different stuff. What is your intended use?

I range friend put a scope on his Super Blackhawk, it kept shearing off the base screws. he finally quit trying. hdbiker

My Nikon monarch 2x's have had no issues with lots of full power loads. They can still be found.

Otherwise the ultradot mentioned above or vortex venom have both held up well for me.

^^^---me too---I had one on a S&W 8 3/8in .44mag---and like bigmike45 thousands of rounds without a problem. When couldn't shoot .44mag anymore put
it on a Ruger Mk ll for thousands more.

Dad bought it and shot thousands of full house loads.. dad's favorite term.. "full house loads"

Anyway, has the red dot on it pictured and it is a seriously small dot. Great for some accuracy. Yes, not quite scope great but I've been running it at least another 2k rounds since he gifted to me.

Dad is still with us and when I show him vids of the Dillon 650 churning 44 mag in his old brass and then shot in his 44mag the pride really shows. Dad gave me a great gift and it's like me using it is a gift to him
