Scope for LMT Defender

Thinking about putting a 1-4x scope on my LMT Defender carbine. Have looked at some reviews of the Millett DMS and Leatherwood CMR scopes, have not researched any other options. I want to stay under $500 for the scope and mount. Recommendations?

Think you can find a Super Sniper 1-4x for about $500, for sure a Vortex. The Burris 1-4x doesnt look bad and you could get a Pepper mount too!

Decided to go a different route with a red dot sight. Ordered a Lucid HD7 today. This will be my first experience using a red dot sight, or an optic of any kind on an AR for that matter. Might go with a magnification scope as an alternative down the road.
