scope on 22 rim fire rifle?

what I want to know is why somebody doesn't make a 3x prism scope designed to be mounted on a 10/22 or marlin lever, or any carbine that doesn't need a huge scope.
Anything not an AR.
Compact, simple reticle, and if we can dump illumination and have lightweight as well that would be amazing. Why every prism scope is designed with a riser is beyond me.

edit: actually, it looks like MAYBE the new vortex spitfire gen 2 has a low mount option. but I don't like the reticle and I cannot actually find a picture or the low mount installed anywhere on the internet. So perhaps it is mythical: like an honest politician, one size fits all, 22lr in stock.

The bushnell Lil-p has a low mount but no magnification.
It doesn't get rail level low like the TRS-25 does but about what a scope mounted and low rings would be

my eyes aren't very good. I really like some magnification. 2-3x for stuff under 50 yds, 4-6x for 100 yd shots. I'd love something smaller than the leupold 1-4x jobs I have on so many of my guns.

On my 17Mach2 squirrel rifle, i have a Bushnell Elite 4-16x AO. Having killed a number of squirrels up around 100+ yds, I use every bit of the 16X. But, given that most shots are under 50 yds, dialing it back to 4X works really well.

I still get a lump in my throat when I think that Nikon is no longer making scopes.

They’re not even making camera gear in Japan any more either.
Does that mean my FM2 that I haven't used in 25+ years is going to be worth something? Or should I just throw it in the trash because it isn't digital?

Back to rifle scopes: I have a Nikon Prostaff EFR on an Izhmash Biathlon Basic .22 rifle. This scope:

I shoot in a rimfire target league -- we do 50 ft. offhand unsupported at NRA 50-ft light rifle targets:

It works really well for that purpose. I usually put it up to 9x, but if I'm feeling a bit shaky I'll drop it down to 7x to keep from getting seasick.

For plinking or small game, I agree that 4x is enough. I have a Weaver 4x on a Marlin 795 -- a nice light scope for a nice little rifle. Great combo.

The reason is 99.99% of customers are using them on AR15s or AR15 rimfire lookalikes.

The new young buyers want modern military style weapons to look as cool as possible on the range and to post on instagram.

Is their a special kind we are to use? I put an old 4 power Weaver on mine this morning is it going to be OK?

If there is, I haven't read that memo. I go with MY needs on the .22 rimfire rifle I use for a "specific" purpose. When squirrel season "officially" opens in September, there's still ample canopy involved with leaves that are still green. Playing peek-a-boo with a tree rat, is kinda fun for me, so I have one .22 rifle with a 6x-24 scope on it so I can put the cross wires where it will count. Fried squirrel with gravy and dumplings done in a cast iron skillet is a reward I'll not give up for use of a minimum power optic.
On .22 rifles I use for testing .22 rimfire ammunition out to 100 yards, I much prefer the variable scopes that have power going up to 32X and adjustments that move in 1/8-inch increments.
Spending, what I considered, an exorbitant amount of money for some of these scope and ring combinations being charged these days, is not gonna happen by me. I just can't fathom how a set of scope rings should cost $150.00 and up and scope prices for $1,000.00 and higher, are gonna remain on the shelf if they're waiting for me.
