Greetings,

I noticed some scope have in the front a ring with yards increment. I think this is for parralax at the marked distance.

While handling one, I also noticed that the image gets clearer when the setup yardage on the ring equals the distance of the target.

My quesiton is: I noticed more expensive scopes don't have that feature. Is it a good or bad feature to have? Why those more expensive scopes don't have it?

Most expensive scopes do have it in higher power scope models.

It is not really necessary or needed below about 10X, and so most 3x-9x variables do not have it.

The more expensive scope makers have went away from the AO on the objective lens and put the same feature on a third dial on the left side of the turrent.

I am curious: I noticed quite bad parralax on my Eotech 557 + 3x eothech magnifier (850$ setup) and there is almost no parralax on my cheap 60$ 3-9x scope.

If I buy a Nikon or Leupold in the 3-9x, will I have to worry about parralax really?

No.
As I said above, it is not an issue on a good scope until you get to 10x or more in power.
Very few 3x-9x variable hunting scopes have AO, or need it.

Most centerfire rifle scopes are set to be parallax free at 100 - 150 yards.
Beyond that they are always parallax free.

You only have problems at closer ranges of 20 - 50 yards or so, and at that close range it doesn't matter enough to care unless you are shooting flys or something.

Nope, unless you are shooting benchrest or gnats. It will be set parralax free at 100 yards, but the parralax error at other yardages will be very small. If your eye is dead center every time, it will be smaller than small. Bottom line is it is nothing to worry about.
 
As Walkalong has hit on, lineing up dead center with take care of any parallax error. Hunting scopes usually wont need a parallax adjustment, since your shot placement is not going to be off far enough to matter. Trying to shoot bullets into the same hole? Your gonna need the parallax set to that specific yardage.

Ditto what others have said. I'll add, yes, important for precision shooting. Further, it is (in my opinion) a "good feature" to have on rimfire scopes ... especially on rifles you intend to shoot at very close ranges. All my .22 rimfires have scopes with adjustable objectives so that I can crank the focus/parallax down to 50 FEET or less. Excellent for precision shooting on 50-foot indoor ranges.

I like to shoot in the same hole at 100 yards... :D

My wife has an ACOG TA11F on her AR-15 handle and it does a wonderful job.

I have a cheap Barksa 10-30x on my varminter with a parralax adjusting ring and it does a good job too (Maybe some of you remember I had issue with a wandering zero and it was the rings).

Now, I want a GOOD quality tactical scope to put on my AR-15 handle. I am looking something like 3-9x. I know, I already asked the question and got some answers, but sooooooooo many choice. I discovered the Leupold AR and burris tactical. What do you think about those? Any other that I did not see maybe? Sadly the ACOG 3x is too low and the 6x is 1500$ and has an eye relief of only about 1.5 inch...
