here is a good qestion, when you purchase a used gun and it has an old scope on it, how does a person go around identifying if the scope is correct for the application its being used for/ ie did billy bob put a center fire scope on a rimfire, etc.?

trying to identify if a bushnell sportview wide angle 3-9x variable is rimfire or not

Rimfire scopes will have the parallax set at 50-75yrds opposed to 150, for a centerfire. The objectives are usually smaller, 32mm opposed to 40mm.

Other than that, the scopes will be the same.

Most centerfire scopes are set parallax free at 100 yards.
