My luck was rewarded to start the weekend I scored a couple of nice S&W's today. A sweet model 19-6 and a real nice model 66-2 that came with a new looking Binachi Pancake Holster. They both came with Goodyears so I had some nice grips I wasn't using so I am pretty happy with the results. I got them from two different people online so now I don't have to go to the gun show next weekend , well maybe.

So, Snake -- you scored two of these beauties at the same time? You bought your Powerball and MegaMillions tickets too, right? 'Cause you are the luckiest sonofagun when it comes to finding my favorite revolvers. We're on to you, though -- we're tracking your internet activities and some of us will be moving down to your town...

Idaho is for sure an option right now; I've recently retired, and the wife is next, I'm just trying to convince her that the pesky winter thing isn't all that bad.

The Boise area is awesome and the winters are generally mild for the most part , heck I only shoveled snow three times twice in the last two years so it isn't that bad

I'm very familiar with Boise, one of our kids went to school there for a bit (Go Broncos!), heck, I shoveled snow more often here on the Puget Sound than you did the last couple years, then...

Where did you get those grips and how are they as far as recoil control? It's my policy not to be envious of another man's gear, sometimes this forum makes it hard.

Those grips are commonly referred to as finger grooved combat grips. S&W had them in the late 1980s to late 1990s on many guns and sold them for around $80 a pair in their store. While they exist for J, K/L and N frames, the K frame grips are most common.

The round butt version is less comfortable for me with the upper left corner of the grips pressing on the thumb bone during recoil but the square butt versions fit me very well and mitigate recoil well.
They are now collectible and the nice striped set of SnakePlisskin, if factory original, should cost in the neighborhood of $325. Since they are quite popular and Culina LLC is manufacturing them these days.
I had paid $5 for the first pair, back when every gun store had a box of factory grips that had been replaced with Packmayrs.

Since I live in Boise I may just start up some surveillance on Snake and find out where he gets his goods!
