Anyone know a decent paint to fix this? I don't need something extremely durable. Just something that will blend in okay enough until I can get it handled by a professional.

Get a little 3m rubbing compound or Meguiars polish and buff the scratches a bit. You will be surprised how well they blend in. Use only light pressure and a soft cloth!

Are you planning on shooting it or just looking at it? If you are actually going to use the gun as intended that should be the least of your worries. The CZ Rami is a carry gun. Its a tool. Tools show wear from use. It is not a collector piece that requires babying.

To me it's most definitely a collectors piece that requires babying, while also a shooter.

I get what you're saying but I would prefer to keep this thing in decent cosmetic condition.

To you it’s a collector piece, and that’s your opinion ...but it’s just a nice used CZ carry gun, worth the same with that scratch as when you pay someone $300 to refinish it.

Again, I get it. I just don't look at this gun the same as others. It's one I've wanted for a very long time, and one I just happened to stumble upon by luck when going in to pick up a Colt Cobra. I simply want to make the scratch less noticeable.

Are you sure it's not actually something on the finish and not finish scratched off?

Unfortunately, I am.

Actually the more I think about it...you guys are probably right.

Main reason I fell in love with the RAMI is because it looks like the most Eastern European thing I've ever saw. A bit is character can only add to that perception.

Oh man, that's nothing. You should see how bad I scratched up the slide on my CZ P01 installing new sights.

It's a carry/nightstand gun though. If it ever gets used in self defense it'll get banged up much worse getting handled in police custody. I wouldn't sweat it. If you carry it, it'll see much worse.

No. Make up your mind.

There's two ways from here:
1) Return it to the factory, pay for a complete refinish, store it under glass, and never touch it again.
2) Buy a barrel of ammo and go shoot it.

It's not a Nettleton Colt SAA, it's a CZ. Shoot it.

Unfortunately with almost all guns, when you handle them and use them, they're bound to get scuff marks, scratches, and places where the finish might come off. If you want a finish that will pretty much look brand new after many years of carrying and use, then I would suggest something like hard chrome plating. My Beretta Model 70S was hard chrome plated by Ron Mahovsky of Metalife a long time ago and still looks as good as the day I got it back from him!

The problem is that any sort of refinish you make it not collectible. LOL I would not do any sanding or polishing on it. You will most likely make it worse not better. If it is poly coated the Duplicolor auto paint flat black is a pretty good match. You could try that and if it does not look better most CLPs will take it right off.

You cannot return it to the factory for refinishing. CZ does not refinish guns in the US and they do not send them back to Czech either. Ask me how I know...

Another solution...stick the CZ in a safe and buy/shoot a Glock. I got rid of my blue guns a long time ago and just went with Glocks mostly.

Not for everyone, but I surely don’t sweat any scratches. Minimal effort for worrying about stuff that doesn’t matter works for my life these days...

If it's collectible enough that that scratch matters, taking it to the range ruined it forever. Sell it, buy another.

Or, go shoot a pretty nice pistol, for fun and practice.

A CZ Rami is far from a collectors piece and IMO the least desirable pistol in the CZ lineup. I believe CZ custom out of AZ, not CZ usa, can and does apply the poly coat finish.

It hideous and unbearable to look at!

Seriously, what are you worried about? I think it makes life easier when the gun you use gets some character marks. You stop babying it and start using it like a tool that it is meant to be. Now there are BBQ guns which are whole different story, but don't worry about RAMI which is most likely going to see a lots of time EDC or range. Its bound to happen so it happened.
