Hey, there.

I moved to Philly about a month ago and I was looking to see if any other members lived in or around the area. I'm curious for recommendations for good FLGSes, ranges, and, heck, someone to go shooting with.

Drop me a line or post here - I'm always interested in meeting another shooter.

I'm not sure where (Queens Village) that's at but anyways, most (Probably All) of the ranges in the city limits are a RIP OFF. Range time is expense and you can't bring your own ammo. There are a couple of good places. One is north on I-95 next to Franklin Mills Mall and Sam's Club. Pistol People in Bensalem. It's a short range (50ft), but only $10 per hour and you can bring your own ammo except magnums. Then there's Classic Pistol, which is about another 15-20 minutes northwest of Pistol People, is located in Southampton. $12 per hour and you can bring your own ammo plus you can shoot rifles.

If you go I-95 south, in Chadds Ford there a place call Target Master. I've never shoot there, but the range facilities look really nice, it's $15 per hour and you can bring your own ammo.

These places are easy for me to get to from University City. I just joined a club called Lower Providence Rod and Gun club located in Audubon, PA near King of Prussia. It takes me about 40 minutes to get to the club. The club has an indoor range, 100 yard outdoor, trap shooting, and archery. Also different organized shoots. The price is great on $150 the first year then only $100.

There are more places in the burbs around Philly, but I think that most of these places would take almost an hour to get to. If you check packing.org, you can find a list of ranges in PA.

I hope that this helps.

i live in claymont, delaware, about 15-20 minutes south of philly. we have a couple of good shops down here, and a good, cheap public range...100 yards i think. stay away from target master....range is always busy and very expensive, and the punks at the guys at the counter are pr**ks. there are a couple of very nice private and public ranges west of philly, out in the exton/malvern/phoenixville areas of chester county.

I'm just south of Philly in New Castle, DE. I'm just waiting for the weather to warm up a bit, so I can go to the range. I usually just go to the one the state runs, haven't been to Targetmaster. I would like to find a good indoor range without spending an arm and a leg just to shoot.

HA! A Claymonster? I went to Archmere...many, many years ago.

I'm mostly in NYC these days, but I still get back to the Southeast PA/DE area a couple weekends a month and occasionally go to Classic Pistol in Philly. Targetmaster sucks and I only go there if I'm in dire need of cleaning equuipment or something minor. They're much closer to my home in PA than Classic Pistol, but I just can't stand the people there. Also do a good bit of shooting in north central PA at a friend's farm in Lawrenceville.

NE Philly here. I shoot at Britts (cheap and close) and Classic pistol.. Like Classic.. You can shoot anythign there and you can use your own ammo. Lets get a Philly meet together!

Close to Philly

I live in Lansdowne, just outside of Philly. I usually go to double Action about 3x per month. Nice range. I'm usually there Friday night or Saturday morning. Let me know if you want to go.:)
