Yep, got it this AM in a local trade ..Very nice, a classic.
Yours?
Just get it?
Come on man, what's the story?!
Thought I remember Dr Kevorkian being mentioned too.Very handsome Ruger!
Wait until you shoot it, though. The grips were designed by a committee including Satan, Torquemada, and Marquis du Sade.![]()
I’ve owned probably a dozen Six series that I shot with those grips from HadesThought I remember Dr Kevorkian being mentioned too.
Congrats OP you dun good!

Wow, wouldn’t that be nice…You know, maybe with some firearm models making a coming back (most recently the no lock S&W revolvers but also Colts revolver line) maybe we'll get a big surprise and see reasonably priced Rugers Six series reintroduced (I can dream can't I?![]()
You definitely don’t want to use those thin wooden grips on a full range day… I wear gloves most the time when I go to the range .. but with 357 mag ammunition.. it can be a bit painful.I was just funnin anyway. I've never even touched a set of those grips.

I've got your gun's twin in stainless and the old Sile rubber grip (looks like the Presentation) is by far the most comfortable. BTW, that's a great looking blued Security Six. Renaissance Wax works wonders protecting and putting a shine on without any abrasives. Good luck with that gem.You definitely don’t want to use those thin wooden grips on a full range day… I wear gloves most the time when I go to the range .. but with 357 mag ammunition.. it can be a bit painful.
Im most likely will put some sort of rubber grips for range use ..
<nodding> In late '75(?) I bought a NIB SS 2¾" version (151-75701) to replace my '73 NIB-purchased 4" Blue Security-Six (150-33573). Great handgun! ... but neeeeeeded Pachmayrs.I bought a SS version of that gun back in the mid 1980's. I think I paid $225 for it. I did change the grips but that's probably the only gun I let go that I wish I had back.
Something I've noticed with some Pachmayr rubber grips vs Sile...at least some Pachmayr grips use metal under thin rubber (top of grip)to stiffen the grip. I've had the finish marred under the grip from metal on metal contact. I haven't experienced that with the Sile.Very nice!
The only issue with finding rubber grips is sometimes the rubber, over time, will harden and become more like hard plastic rather than soft rubber. II prefer to find vintage grips at a gun show so that I can examine them before purchase.
