Onty thing I like about the Seecamp 32 auto is will fit in a shirt pocket. Newly purchased ammo seems to be a problem from some manufactures. The Seecamp forum explains how to modify the magizine if newly purchased ammor causes problems. Did not experience the problem myself with older ammo. but suggest go to the Seecamp forum and read how to modify the magaizine . Can reload Gold Dot bullets for ammo. for about 25 cents or less. So would not be a problem. My choice for a back up is the Kel Tec. 380. No ammo problems. There are other fine back up guns, just got a good price on a kel tec with laser.

No knowledge about the Seecamp 380.

The Seecamp (I have one on the way) needs ammo that is shorter than .910".
The problem is the ammo manufacturers change the ammo without changing the name or packaging. The lowly WWB is fine, so ammo is available. I will buy one box of Gold Dots, one of Silver Tips, and see what works. This is not a range gun, so you don't need to hoard.

shorter than .910, interesting. Not aware that ammo can be purchased shorter than .910

. Good luck. hope you use it for back up not the main carry Some of the old boys on that forum claim they use for main carry. let me know what brand is less than .910. Please.

Larry has posted on his board the approved ammo for his 32acp. This is ammo that will work out of box with out mag mods.

Lots of people carry the 32 Seecamp as their main carry pistol . Same as many carry the little NAA 22mag revolver
I carried a 32 KelTec as my main carry for a while Now the 380 KelTec in my pocket and daughter has the 32.
The one time I needed a pistol 30 or so years ago I had a Beretta 950 25 auto in pocket . The sight of a pistol was enough to change the out come. Most people don't want shot no matter the caliber .

I would never carry reloaded ammo for SD But that s just me.

first time i ever needed one i forgot to pull the tirgger, fellow turned and ran, let him go. Second time was was 44 mag ruger . again . fellow decided did not want my window rolled down or for me to get out car. . god help me if i had fired that sucker in a VW 68 bug.

My impression is the latest recommened seecamp 32 ammo is the one giving problems, No big deal regardless for me. When I think about 32 ammo, would suspect Seecamp 32 pistols would only be a small fraction of all the guns that ammo makers have to consider for function. My understanding kel tec, khar, Walter, Colt, Smint wesson, and so many others will handle longer ammo, manufactors will load for them first. If their ammo fits the Seecamp will be a plus for Seecamp. Just my opinon.

Wish Seecamp the best of sales.

I've never had a problem either finding or firing ammo for my Seecamp LWS32, but this thread and the above statement made me curious, so I grabbed three boxes from my safe and measured three rounds.
The round - the measurement.

Cor Bon 60gr JHP - .8915"
Silver Tip - .9055
Hornady Custom 60gr JHP/XTP - .9045

Gold Dot works well too, but I shot all that I had recently, so I am unable to measure one of my favorite rounds, but I'm sure it's similar to the other three.
Fiocchi makes a good .32 JHP but I've only fired a few boxes of it.

I've never been tempted to remove the spacer in any of my Seecamp mags to be able "fit" ammo, nor have I needed to. If one buys quality 60gr. JHP ammo, as the mag is designed for, you should have no ammo related problems.

Problems occure when people try to cram 71 or 73gr RN ammo in the mag that isn't built to hold it.

Never had a problem with my Seecamp LWS32.

Shot Speer GDHPs, Hornady XTP, Winchester 4255 truncated-nose FMJ's, Federal HydraShoks, and Winchester Silvertips through it.

Just like any other handgun, common sense would suggest one gives it a good workout with your intended carry ammo before you put it in service.

Within the limitations of the ammunition and the gun, I've never felt poorly armed with my LWS32.

thanks for the measurements. usp9

never had anything commerial other than 1990 or so wincherster Silver tip. and a few boxes of the winchester white box 71 grain stuff. Everthing else i ever used was handloads. Some one gave me a box of remington bullets., had to reseat bullet to get them to feed. Will be interesting to see how the complaints play out on the Seecamp fourm. You are correct about round nose bullets.. Hunter makes a truncated flat nose that i liked to use.

Went back and read the seecamp explanation why need to revise the magizine. They, Seecamp forum, talks about cup size changed. Think that means shape of the nose. Oh well, not my problem.

I'd like to read that, can you post a link please.

there are many more comments on the seecamp forum. . could not find the one with pictures how to break off part of the spacer. Know it is there, did not pay a lot of attention.

like i said not my problem. I use a kel tec 380 for a back up. . So many other choices for back up guns. My carry guns of choice are the Glock 29 owb carry but find i stick in my front pocket a Ruger sp101 loaded with my own blend of 158 grain lead on the high end of hot for lead bullets. I admit I liked the little Seecamp for a while, but at my age have to sell or give away when I can. Dang kin folks are dieing off all to fast. Or moving to that CA place.

I have 2 boxes of silvertips, from 5-10 years ago. Also the gold dots and hydroshocks, I don't shoot hem but I have them. Last ime i got it running perfect wit the silvertips. I fired a box through both mags and i cleaned it and put it away. I would hope that if I carried it now it would take up where it left off

FWIW:

Between my bride and myself we have three Seecamps.. (2/32's one 380).

Both of our LWS32's feed and function properly with jhp Speer Gold Dots, and Winchester fmj (White Box) Q4255's.

My LWS380 does the same with HydraShok jhp's, and VP380 truncated fmj's(Winchester White Box equiv. of Q4255 in 380cal.)

All Seecamp pistols were designed to function with jhp's, but because of the truncated ball rounds of the Q4255/VP380 they work just fine.

The secret is to find the round your particular Seecamp loves, and save the final 7 rounds from a box you have found to feed and function perfectly for your carry rounds..

Depending on your particular habits, six months or a year down the road, start all over again with a new box.

Seecamp pistols are not perfect, but they CONCEAL perfectly.. :D

Best Wishes,

Jesse

P.S. Picture below, L/R. (all 32cal.)

Silvertip jhp
Speer Gold Dot jhp
Winchester Q4255 truncated fmj.

Full sized fmj round for length comparison..

Our Seecamps function perfectly with the first three, will not with the last round.

I have both and carry both.

My Seecamp functions 100% with Speer Gold Dots.
