Is there any hands-on shooting experience that can be or is being posted about this new design? I would enjoy a shooting/ hands-on review; I would enjoy a hands-on myself but retail samples still not available in my area. Any input sound be great.
Varminterror, I would appreciate a Ph3 overview from your experience (even in July). I have no retail inventory in this area to hands-on and other’s shooting reviews before a purchase is always good guidance. From photos and reading, the Ph3 appears to be a top shelf rifle especially at its price offering. I am not at the giddy stage yet but I may be after an in person look-see. Thank you.

No problem. I bought a PH1 when they first hit the streets, and now have a PH2 - I ended up with a lemon, so Glen is swapping me for a complete PH3. I don’t really care for the split rail, and I would have rather they stayed in an R700 action footprint, but as a top tier, factory hunting rifle, all of the other upgrades Glen made to the PH3 are really, really great improvements, AND his changes correct all of the aspects where the PH2 could experience defects (bolt material and finish primarily). I don’t necessarily need a PH3 at this point, but I’m excited to have closure on my issues and excited to get my hands on the upgraded PH3 model.
Not sure where you are in MO, but I get out to KC and Ottawa for matches relatively regularly, and might venture more into MO this summer/fall, so I’ll keep in mind that I might bring it along so you can put hands on it.
Hard reality: all of the Seekins rifles I have seen have been tack drivers.
I think “limit market,” but probably not “hurt sales.” They haven’t had traction in the custom rifle action or precision rifle market - he’s selling NRL Hunter and sport hunting rifles, and really doesn’t seem interested in chasing the PRS market, let alone f-class or BR.
But these rifles have a long wait list (mine is 2 month wait on the expedited delivery list!) and he can’t keep up selling them. Even the used market has been selling nearly retail price. Even for my PH1, ratted out as it is, I had an offer to buy it for $250 less than I paid. It’s nuts.
The “precision hunter” folks who don’t do anything else with rifles - think Gunwerks, or the folks keeping Christensen arms open - eat these things up like crack cocaine, for some reason.
