Sellier and Bellot ammo

I used Czeck 7.62x54r , made by S&B for the military in 150 GN. steel cased and laquerd. Comes in 800 rd cases in light blue box's. It is VERY consistent and accurate and as a hunter, I found it can "Do it all".

The accuracy made it worthwhile to deal with the corrosive priming and the need to clean the chamber after use, to avoid "Sticky Bolt" in the Mosin's I used.

The commercial S&B is good, very consistent, though the heavier bullet did well in my M-39's, it wasn't as great through my M-38 Carbine, but that's OK......LOL! I don't think that rifle group very well, no matter the ammo....

Seller and Belloit is owned by the Colt /CZ group. The company of S and B was sold a few years ago. I'm glad your enjoying it.

I like the s&b ammo but don't like using it in guns with claw exstractors, they don't cut the grove enough and it's very hard on the claws to the point I'm afraid it will chip/break them. Some cases won't fit into there proper shellholds when reloading. Mostly use mauser cartridges like 7x57,8x57,7.65x53 and others. May not be a problem with American spec ammo.

I have had great success with S&B in rifle and pistol.
As mentioned above, PPU doesn't suck. I have been pleasantly surprised with it in rifles.

Way way back when.... I started buying S&B to plink with in .308 AR I had just built and saved all of the brass.
It has reloaded very well for me.

With the exception of 7X57 I shoot all rimmed case HP rifle ammo from them. In my limited use of the 7X57 ammo in my Mauser 95 and my Husqvarna 1640 DLX 7X57 AI I've had no problems. I have found some cases balk at sliding into RCBS # 3 shell holders, however.

My BIG dis on S&B HP big game ammo is their bullets. They're Cartridges Rated As Poor (C-R-A-P) and fragment badly. 😡

I've never tried S&B, but have shot plenty of PPU.
One thing to prepare yourself for now that you know what the gun likes. Stock up.... yesterday.
These new tariffs probably ain't gonna do the price of imported ammo any good until countries start making deals with the US.

I have some 375 H&H from PPU. They are loaded with a 300 grain FMJ. The question is, are they FMJs or solids? There's a big difference. Or if reputed to be solids, are they good solids?

I have a bunch of S&B in 6.5x55, and have fired lots of handgun rounds plus a brick or two of S&B Club .22 LR.

Good stuff, I haven’t had a bad experience with their ammo yet.

Stay safe.

Not only is it good. and reliable, it is usually lower in price than many other brands. A WIN,WIN in my judgment

I use it in my 22 Savage, to build up my brass stock. The brass is good for many reloads and seems much harder or stronger than contemporary brands, I find it's almost impossible to "dish" the rim if ever a case get's "sticky" whilst resizing due to my incorrect or inadequate lubrication.
That being said it's also very accurate and it's pleasing to see that S&B have worked on keeping the bullet profile original to assist in the stabilisation process with the slow twist rate in these rifles given the heavy for caliber bullet weight.

Seems to be the new Core Lokt or Power Point. They have flooded the market with The least expensive soft point ammo you can buy today in the most common, traditional, deer hunting cartridges.

for example, today a box can be had shipped in .270 for $18 a box.

the US manufacturers have spent the last two decades convincing us that we need to spend twice or three times that to kill deer deader when in reality soft points do the trick just fine for most shots taken.
