Send a brick to congress

I'm game for the most part but i dont want the feds wanging away at my door because i "threatened" an official with a brick.

Can anybody confirm there wont be a fallout?

I like the idea of sending a message(a heavy one) to congress, but I think organizing a protest(s) would be far more effective. I'm really surprised this hasn't happened yet since it's been very effective for their side. Truth is, we've become lazy. We want reform, but not as much as we want to maintain uninterrupted lives. Someone else would put forth the effort, anyway.

I know that Real_Name.
I simply used it as a slightly humorous example showing that it was indeed possible to send a brick through the mail.

From who? The Department of Wooden Buildings?... :p

Just remember, if the Feds do file a case, the press will be involved too. Imagine the headlines....

I'm not gonna worry about it. I may even send a bag of mortar, too... :D

I really like this. I'm in.

And I'm sending this to every righteous person I know, gun owner or not.

And I stickied "The Window War"...that was brilliant.

I contacted my local news station to hopefully bring some attention to the idea. They said they'd get back to me. Only thing is, I accidentally gave them THR's website, rather than giving them the "official" website.

I'm in for a penny and in for 15 lbs. I'll send a brick to each of my senators and my rep with a note telling them to start on the wall ASAP.

Head down to home depot, but also tell all your friends. Call into the talk radio people. Lets get this rolling. Even if only a few thousand people do this, congress will get the message in a hurry. It is completely legal and it will be super effective. Even if only the people here did it, it would probably be noticed.

I am trying to start chain e-mails going about this. I think that the low cost of this combined with the novelty may get it rolling.

I am in. Get the flat rate boxes and FILL them up! It will only cost $8.10 and you could probably get a cinder block in the big one.

What about horse dung? I could get lots of that. Won't build a wall, but will provide "positive support" to my politicians. I hear that ducks of a feather flock together. I would be just sending "moral support". Would I get arrested for sending hazardous materials?

They snagged enough money out of my paychecks last year to buy a couple flatbed trucks full of bricks. And you want me to send them another one?

*edit* Fixed a really dumb typo.

Horse dung could be termed as a form of attack since it is potentially infectious and also reeks.

Bricks are relatively inert and besides you are sending them valuable construction material.

Hmm... even if only a dozen people from each state send bricks to their reps, that's still a dozen bricks per rep. They might actually get the message.

EDIT: What's the proper way to address a Representative of the House? I know for a Senator it's "Senator", but for a rep., would it be "Dear Representative (Last Name)"?

Third Rail

I think that either congressman/congresswoman or representative will work fine.
