Sexy, older, good looking stainless semis?....

After spending the weekend at our gun club, I decided that we need one more smaller caliber semi handgun-----mostly for the wife. Any good recs on something that resembles a Ruger MkII-III, or Browning Buckmark? That's half way affordable?.......

We have a blue MKIII 512 Bull barrel (which Mrs. Mariachi loves). I've personally held a couple of Ruger stainlii, one being a MKIII b/b, one a slab side and the other was the Hunter model 678, with the fluted barrel and coco grips (tres sexy, tres pricey). But have never held a Browning Buckmark, just seen some pics of them....

I have a stainless 22/45, and highly recommend this model. Durable, accurate, cheap to feed. (I've never bothered with other than the cheapest brick I can get at Wal-Mart; the gun and ammo together far outpace the shooter for accuracy.)

645 S&W, with custom grips. The grip frame is such, that you can put just about any kind of grip material on the gun: wood, ivory, horn, micarta, etc. If the gun isn't sexy enough as is, add some attractive grips, then have the gun bright polished.

Browning Buckmark is a great gun. I highly recommend.

I know this is not a .22, but how about a Browning BDA in .380? Should be really easy to handle due to it being all steel. But a bit pricier to buy and to feed. But you said Sexy and older, right?

The 645 is a great gun, but the OP wanted something of a smaller caliber for the wife. A .45 ACP is hardly a smaller caliber.

I vote Beretta.

I was just visualizing the 645. You could do the same with a 639 for a person with smaller hands. Perhaps slicking up a Ladysmith 3913? Hogue makes wood grips for them on special order.

I have to say ++++ on the beretta 85 fs nickle model 380 cal.I just purchased one this week.The wife even loves it,LOL.I own many S&W, kimber,ruger revolver and but this beretta 85 is one fine pistol.I will order more in the near future.

How small in caliber are you looking at?

I've "collected" a long barrel S&W 422 and short barrel S&W 2206. Neither is going anywhere any time soon. They have both proven to be extremely reliable and to be able to digest anything I've fed them. The ONLY issues I've had are one of the mags does not like the 2206 and the same 2206 was working SO reliably that I neglected to clean it for a LONG time. Finally a month back at a match it acted up. Upon TRYING to feed a bore brush and rod down the barrel it stuck badly. It took three smart bumps on the cleaning rod handle to push it through. The amount of lead caked in the barrel that was ejected was almost enough to make another bullet.

I was suitably sheepish and apoligetic to the gun for having neglected it for so long. But that it was able to shoot reliably up to such a point speaks well for the whole line of these very nice classic S&W semi .22's.
