hello everyone I'm new to the forums and guns in general. I went to buy my first gun. I did months of research and ended up choosing the Beretta 92fs. So I went to the gun store planning on putting a down payment on the 92fs. While waiting the shop owner tells me before he orders it to try this...He pulls out a used CZ 75b 40cal. I looked at him strangely because I never considered the 40cal because I was worried about the recoil. I wanted to enjoy shooting. He loaded up a clip and sent me to the back... I fired it and OMG was I shocked. it kicked liked a 9mm.. I kept shooting it and shooting it. I loved it. It was dead accurate too, more accurate then I am. It fit me like a glove.. I looked and fired a few other guns but kept coming back to the worn out browning hi power look alike,, like the limping puppy at the back of the group. So he told me if I wanted it he would sell it to me for 450 out the door. It came with 5 spare clips original box, manual and houge grips. It has some wear and tear but its my first gun so it wasn't so bad. plus I had a extra 300 bucks left. Once I got over the stigma of wanting a brand new gun I felt I made the right choice... Sharing my first gun buying experience.

This is a pic someone else took before they sold it to the gun store I got it from...

Congrats on your purchase. :D CZs are fine guns. Hopefully you'll enjoy it for many years. I bet you'll end up with a few more, like the rest of us. It's a sickness.

congrats. my first gun, a Ruger GP101 357 revolver, I bought used as well. It just worked for me as the CZ, it seems, worked for you.

don't make the same mistake I did, keep this - your first gun - don't trade it, it'll have some sentimental value for you :) I think of my GP101 often and wish I could've scraped the cash for a new engine for my car at the time without selling it....

Very cool Jermz - I have 3 CZs and love them - great quality and a classic design in the 75b. A beretta 92fs was my first gun purchase and it is also a fantastic pistol - wouldn't have gone wrong there either, but brand new they can be a little steep - but it sounds like you made a great purchase - and don't forget pictures - they go a long way here!

Only the used guns. I tried a Taurus Pt92 and a Smith and Wesson 910, both in 9mm. The smith and Wesson was a little to small for my hands. I liked the Taurus but the CZ just fit my hands like it was made for me.

had my first gun buy experience this weekend too. wasn't nearly as smooth as yours (and the shop i went to will never have my business again), but i ended up with a cz 75 compact PCR. glad i did, just feels "right"

LOL funny you say that, I was debating on what was the right term. clip or magazine. When I said magazine I kept thinking of Ak 47s Ar 15s and so on. Thanks I'm always looking to correct myself. Yeah the guys at brick armory In new jersey are awesome, made the experience great.

You done good for yourself. Smart decision buying a quality used gun too. If in good shape it is as good as a new one and less $$. I think you are going to do well in your new obsession, er, I mean hobby!

Congrats and welcome to the Highroad. You made a good choice, I recently became a CZ owner, traded a S&W model 59 for a CZ PCR, and have never looked back. My PCR goes everywhere with me, it is my primary carry pistol and always goes to the range. One just has to hold a CZ to know it's the one to own, shoot and depend on when the ship hits the sand. I really like my Beretta's, SIG's and Glocks...but the PCR is the IT in SH** when it comes to the perfect carry weapon, IMHO. Here is something useful for a new CZ owner, a link to cheap magazines http://gregcotellc.com. Enjoy... collecting firearms is a sickness and I'm terminal.

thats a nice piece bro, I think im going to go with one of those for my first as well. I hope it works out for you.

service and passion

Thanks Jermz for sharing a great story of service and passion.

I like how your Brick Armory dealer seemed genuinely interested in letting you shoot as many used guns as you wanted. Nothing like buying the pick of the litter. Having shot and compared them all in one session, you just KNOW you've made the right choice.

Cool thing about your CZ is that you can carry it Condition 1 like an SA 1911, or DA. Best of both worlds.

Thanks, I was worried about the snap and recoil on the 40sw. I show it in a glock 23 and hated it, but the cz75b shoots so wonderfully. Yeah The shop owners were great. If anyone lives in New Jersey they should check the place out.

Well done. The five extra clips is a nice bonus too.

I love my 75B and I'm sure you will too.

Sounds like a great buy and a good choice for your first gun.

Plinking, range shooting, HD or CC it's a winner. The 40 with 5 mags is ready-to-go for some USPSA action too.

P.S. After YOU get broken in, that $300 you saved will buy reloading equipment and supplies so you can shoot more.

Welcome to the forum.

Nice choice. If you are like many of us, now you will save up and get the 92f.

The difference between magazines and clips - magazines have springs, clips don't.

Best regards,
Foxmoorcz
