I hate for her to get in my kitchen. Anything that has a lid is liable to be lid-less when she gets through (not to mention nearly every pot/pan/utensil put anywhere except where it belongs). She's adorable and the best wife ever... except she can't put a lid back in it's proper place.

My back is in horrid shape again, and (as she always does) she scoured the internet to find me some relief. It come in this form:

I cannot attest to the medicinal value of this pricey little bottle, but it is delightfully fragrant and sure feels good in application. Which brings me back to lids.

After my tender, pleasing massage, the bottle was left on my night stand without my knowledge... sans lid.

When my Pyreneese roused me at 02:30 for a potty trip outside, I apparently reached for my glasses, not knowing an unbottled container of expensive, fragrant oil was where my glasses lay.

Why am I telling you all this?

I merely wish to know the best cleaner to remove the this oil from my gun handle. 9mm isn't all that hard to handle, except when dsicharged from a gun with a well oiled grip.

Probably a mineral oil base. Maybe WD-40? Ballistol?

My better half also seems disinclined to tighten caps/lids. It's probably got to do with not having to rely on someone else to remove 'em.

Try Dawn dish detergent- works well on oils

Same. I have to watch how I pick jars up.
"Being a guy means being able to open your own jars."

She also has me get stuff down from high places. I put it up there so guess that's legit

Oils remove oils well so mineral oil products like pharmacy unscented mineral oil or Ballistol if you prefer is where I'd start. Apply to a cloth to make damp, wipe the surfaces, wipe off the surface with a dry clean microfiber. Repeat a couple of times.

What a group of fine men on this platform.
One of the few threads that complain about women, and its simply about jar lids.

Yet our passion for firearms probably inclines many women to think of us uncivilized neanderthals.

Hats off to you all.

Run it in the dishwasher🤣🤣🤣🤣 I used some automotive degreaser on a rag to help in a similar (kinda) situation.
Fwiw, my ex-wife(God bless her) was very careful about making sure lids were on, always cross threaded however.

I had no idea this lid thing is so gender related. For grins and giggles, I googled it. Quite a few hits. One Reddit thread with 2.9K replies.

Anyway, thanks for the responses. She's a lovely lady with, apparently, a common character trait!

Gun is perfectly clean now. Ain't Dawn the bomb?
