Which shellholder brands are interchangeable and between which tools? Obviously Lee has it's own trimmer and priming tool shellholders, but their basic press shellholders are identical to RCBS, correct? I seem to recall using Lee shellholders in my dad's RCBS handpriming tool.
How about Lyman, Hornady,etc?
While reading midway's description of the Hornady priming tool, they mention that RCBS shellholders may not fit perfectly.
Any other problems you have experienced when swapping brands?

Lee has two types of shellholders; the red box is for the Lee AutoPrime tool and the green is for reloading presses. The green boxed shellholders will interchange with RCBS, I do it all the time. I use them on an RCBS Reloader Special press that I have.

I'm not sure about Lyman/Hornady shellholders since I've never used either of them.

The numbering system between RCBS and Lee is slightly different but the numbers are listed on the back of the boxes.

I just checked with my dad, and it seems that my memory was correct-the RCBS and Lee press shellholders ARE interchangeable. I used to think that almost all (Hornady/RCBS/Lyman/Redding/Lee) shellholders were interchangeable amongst all tools, but during some recent shopping, I noticed some disagreement about this.
Why lee hasn't gotten rid of his assinine "priming" and trimming shellholders, I'll never know. More money to make I suppose. Just like those die-cast zinc priming tools :cuss:
