I am looking at a C&R pistol on Gunbroker and the seller says he can only ship to a C&R via overnight. I can't find anything in my ATF literature that indicates this to be the case, is it true? Does it make a difference whether the shipper is a dealer or not? It is at most a $200 gun and I'm not going to pay $60 in overnight freight to get it.

He's correct.
Your ATF regulations do not include that because it is a USPS regulation.

USPS only allows licensed dealers, manufacturers and in certain cases a law enforcement officer to mail or receive by mail a firearm other than a rifle or shotgun.

Federal law does not require "overnight", but but in your case does require a common carrier. That common carrier may require whatever they want (and both FedEx and UPS require handguns to go Overnight/ Next Day)

Interesting, and I'll definately keep that in mind if I ever sell any of my guns. Aparantly though, not everyone is aware of that requirement....
