With careful application of leverage and pressure, I was able to remove my leg from the trap, without chewing it off at the knee!;)

I shoot when it pleases me.
(Read as “not enough time to”.)

Did I mention I have a 401k and dirt bikes now?

But, I does get cold at night…
So I just turn up the furnace!:D

I do envy those like LiveLife, 308norma, OldDog and GoeDude.
I’ll never get to spend decades like that with a soulmate.

Ha. It’s getting damn hard to talk one into just a dinner night. The pretenses are nearly too heavy.

Might be my gorgeous flowing beard, 5.11 pants and red flannel shirt.
They don’t seem to mind the new truck, and the muscles. Or the kids.

Could just be me…;)

Sorry, folks, but I call BS on this entire thread. In my five decades of shooting, I've never. Not once. Not ever. Seen a woman at a range who wasn't basically dragged there by a significant other. Not a single time.

Then come to Yazoo City Mississippi. My Wife shoots, hunts and loves the outdoors. A couple of weekends ago She said what are We doing today? I told Her whatever. She said load up the guns and let’s go shooting.
I’ll refrain from saying anything else. Due to the fact it may come off as Me being an Ass towards You.

last week at the range, there were 3 ladies( 50s to early 60s) who were there by themselves shooting. they were fairly new shooters by the looks of it. i think they had done a class recently suspect a ccw. that being said one lady told the range officer about how she felt during the class .
something along the lines of "having an older female student in the class with absolutely no ideas about guns, how uncomfortable she was and how the instructor was not so thrilled about having such a student" and how refreshing it was to be at the range practicing shooting without the feeling of being under pressure."

i wish they had a full size gun to practice with. it was all carry type guns , subcompacts and snubbies.

My wife used to complain years ago about the cost of my guns and shooting. She no longer does. She actually encourages me to go these days. I think one day about 20 years she realized shooting has a positive effect on my attitude as does riding motorcycles.
She only goes shooting with me about once a year, even though I ask her at least once a month.
When I was laid up with my last three injuries (2 bike crashes and an accident at work) she gladly took me to the range at least once a week and even hung targets for me.
She definitely is a keeper. :)
Oh, and by the way, she never nags me about my motorcycles either. Love that girl.

Now, as for @D.B. Cooper comment I am continually surprised at how many women I encounter at the range I belong to. Often they are there alone or with friends. On Friday when I was there shooting there was at least 8 females there shooting. It’s a 16 lane indoor range. A couple were with guys. The rest were there with lady friends. All were shooting.

But this thread isn’t about women shooters so on with the show.

I’m just not sure if I want to pay $700/yr to share a range with a bunch of spray-n-pray Millennials who think it’s cool to dump hot brass on the shooter’s next to them.

WOW! $700 a yr??
My range is only $750 for a lifetime membership. That's 10 wide multi shooter bays outdoors with from 30yd to 550 yd & many shooting events to get into.

No. She did ask a few weeks back why I still haven’t joined us up with a club. I told her it was simple economics, she shrugged and said, “You do the bills.” and left it at that. I take the question to mean she’s not happy about informal shooting out back or just the 25yd indoor range and wants to get back into plates or maybe 300yd big bore again. $700 a year? Yikes I pay $ 50.00 for an outdoor range. 50 yard pistol range; 200 yard HiPower range and 300 yard bench. Must have some pretty good amenities for $700.

University town. Captive market. These kids don’t have jobs but they have unlimited credit cards never see a bill. Basics for membership is $350/person. If we wanted access to private lanes it goes up to $575/person/year. And we’d have to wait for them to have a opening. Right now every club in the areas is oversubscribed. Retired Yankees, college kids, and 2nd generation “Floridians” moving north to get away from what they made of Miami-Dade and Broward. And then there’s the Westcoasters moving here to turn Florida into SoCal…. We won’t get into that here but bottom line is, all the range clubs in North Florida from JAX to St.Pete are costly and have a lot of people crowding limited resources.

Florida become $$$$$ more than it already is! Good thing you got plenty of swamp land to develop. The Florida dream, driving down I-95 and seeing Indian River Grapefruit signs!

Nope not north Florida. South East Missouri.Sorry. It’s 67 Gun Club. Look it up. It’s like shooting in a park. Very nice setting.
be nice if you can park and shoot! Kids in the car with cookies and Ipad as I Shoot! Dreams
