Went down to my home range in the big blueberry field down back yesterday, in case there might be varmints around, but all was quiet on the "Eastern Front", so after sitting around in my pickup, decided to put some sticky targets on my target backer at 100 yards, which is a few more yards away to allow bullets to be caught by a vertical-faced boulder.

The first group on this sticky was some "throwaway" ammo from a batch that didn't shoot especially well. Wind was switchy and I was pretty much plinking. Then, I tied a plastic ribbon to a branch near my bench to act as a wind flag. Wind was getting a little softer and from the target toward the bench. (The blueberry field I shoot over has been taken out of production due to all the boulders and rough ground that makes it difficult to harvest and mow.)

Anyway, being later in the day, the wind started to diminsh, so after shooting the plinker batch (top) on this and a couple of other sticky centers, I took some of the CCI "good stuff" and paid more attention to the wind looking both at the wind flag beside me and the leaves on bushes behind the target. I adjusted the scope closer to the center.

I also adjusted the objective a little better and checked that the Bushnell was cranked to the top, 14X. The second group looked pretty good, but didn't know if some of the shots were going into the black because I couldn't see shots there. The worst ammo was shot first, making the string on top, with what looks like two shots in one hole.

When I went down to retrieve my target centers, I was surprised to see that all 5 shots were in the orange, because If they were in the black, they wouldn't have been visible, due to mirage. When I got back to the house, I measured the smaller group and they were 0.4", the best I've done with that rifle/ammo combo at 100 yards, and what appears to be three bullets going through the bottom hole!
