Hey all

Any shooting ranges around Rome, GA that are "reasonable". Like, not $1000 to join and $500 each year after???????

I be a po' boy!! LOL!!!!!! I'm retired, on fixed income and not a lot of money to spare!!

Thanks to all.......

THANKS

Amish Bill, Do you have any more info about the John's Mtn. DNR range?

Any info on Chestnut Mountain, near Villanow, GA??

Thanks for all replies. Big help

I have directions for John's Mountain down to the tenth in my work email. Basically, go North to Resaca (exit 320 I think - the one with the flying J). Turn left (west) and go a bit. From there I need to look the directions up. I'll look for those when I have a chance. It's a fairly nice outdoor place, has a covered outhouse, useage fee is $5 per car.

Wow! I guess I never relized how good some people have it. My local Sportsmens Association has a range thats open year round and if you are a member you can use it anytime or you if you go with a member. The cost of member ship for a year, $5.

----------John's Mountain----------

Take I-75 north to exit 320 (Resaca/Lafayette/Hwy 136). -- 69.5 miles
Turn left heading toward Lafayette.
You will travel 10.5 miles then you will have to stop at a stop sign.
Turn right heading west on Hwy 136.
You will travel 2/10th's of a mile and turn right at the dirt road.
There will be a sign saying "shooting range". Just go down the road about half a mile, just stay to the right and you will be there.
This facility has a usage fee. At the moment, it is $5 per car.

Fairly nice, unsupervised, Rangers will cite you for no ear/eye protection, shooting at improper target materials.
