Shooting Sticks Suggestions...

I've used Harris bi-pods on all my varmint rifles before, but I'm considering another choice to save weight (and cash), the shooting stick. I've never used one and I think I'd like one that can fold up easily. I'm guessing the cross sticks would be best for a steady hold on target. Any suggestions?

I made almost the same thing, except:

I used hard oak dowel rod.

I used polished 30-06 rifle cases with the heads cut off & the bullets soldered in instead of nails for the feet.

I used tan buckskin suede for the rifle cradle & pivot point.

Gave them a spiral burn pattern with a propane torch and finished with Deft wood finish.
