...I'm just gettin' intrested in this here BP thang...I'm hearing all this stuff bout gittin ridda BP revolvers....saddens one's heart...it does.
The way I look at it is, as sad as it is for some to be past their shootin' prime, it gladdens my heart to see them willing to pass on their shootin' irons as well as their expertise & good wishes.

Instead of sitting on their guns and, truth be told, leaving them for family who may not appreciate them to deal with, they offer them up here and there to enthusiastic young' uns like us! (I'm about to be 59 :))

I'm not looking for anything at present (though another one just found me today). Just wanted to show some appreciation for the generosity exhibited by @ThomasT and others.

This is what keeps a tradition alive. Thank you, gents.

armoredman. I bought the antiqued 1858 about 3 months back from Midway. It's a beauty. I think my wallet screamed too!!!??? Couldn't hear it though. guess i had my earplugs in :D. Gonna go check Midway now. They go quick huh? Tim

$357 for a stainless 1858...I don't know who is crying louder, me or my wallet...
I hear ya. Midway is getting some Uberti’s but as you know they trickle in and flood out. I don’t see that for $357.00. I see an 8 “ barrel version in Uberti for $439.00!!

Trust me my sons have already been laying claim to the guns of mine they want. They just aren't interested so much in the BP stuff. And I have already been giving guns to them. I gave my oldest a S&W model 637 and S&W SW9VE plus several hundred rounds of ammo. In the past I gave him a brand new Ruger red Label SG and Ruger 10/22 rifle along with my Hi-Point 9mm.

The youngest just got a S&W model 915 and a custom Mauser 98 in 7mm Mauser and a Marlin model 60. In the past I gave him a Rossi pump thats a copy of the Winchester pump but I don't remember the model #. And a Winchester model 1200 in 20ga. And plenty of 12,20, 9mm, 7x57 and 22lr to go with them. And I want the youngest to get the Marlin 9mm Camp Carbine because it shares mags with the 915.

I have other rifles and handguns that both will get. Plus a good chunk of cash, gold and silver. My youngest says he wants the reloading stuff. My sons have went dove hunting with me many times. Plus fishing and camping. They liked to go shooting with me and I taught them early on how to operate and check every gun to see if its loaded. They had permission to look at and handle every gun I owned. I never made guns a taboo or a mystery and never worried about them messing with them when I wasn't around. And they saw the damage done by bullets to the deer I shot.

Thomas, Good morning. Sounds like you have some good children and you have a plan. That is great! Tim

Yes I have good sons. The youngest looks at the guns and ask "dad can I have this when you're gone"? Sure Kyle, I don't care. "Great dad, when are you leaving"? I can always feel the love.:(
HAHAHAHAHAHA...Like your sense of Humor Thomas!!

I feel for you. I posted some pictures of my hands a few months ago when I lost my footing and fell on the asphalt and tore my hands up. The worst part was that it bruised both wrist and made my palms almost unbearable to touch.
