THE CHAIR IS AGAINST THE WALL
With the glut of AR-style rifles on the market, it's hard to really stand out from the crowd. There are guns in every conceivable configuration, so it's really surprising when someone comes out with something that is truly unique.

Lancer has managed to do just that with their L15. The lower receiver is designed to take a number of modular magazine wells useful for different applications from full-on race guns to law enforcement and military applications.

On top of that, they've introduced a new product called the QuickMag. Essentially it's a device that clamps to the side of the receiver, and when a lever is pushed to activate it, it simultaneously releases the reserve magazine and activates the magazine release, which makes it extremely fast to reload. When playing with the demo model, I'd estimate that reloads could be executed in a second or less.

Slots in the magazine well line up with the rails near the base of the magazine well. The well is held in place with a pin that goes through at the base of the trigger guard.

Those two products seem to be destined for success in the competition field. What I'm really looking forward to is their new L5 AWM. Did you get the chance to inspect one of these magazines up close? If so, what did you think of them? I'm hoping they might just be the ticket for my FN SCAR 16S. Thanks!

The L5 AWM magazines were there. I was impressed.

They've extended the hardened steel feed lip assembly all the way down to the top of the magazine catch cutout, which should prevent wear in that area. The AWM has a newly designed anti-tilt follower that seems to be functional. They will take 30 rounds and they seem to seat pretty easily on a closed bolt. Retail price should be around $15, I'm probably going to pick up a ten-pack and wring them out.

Thank you for the information, Chris! At that price, I'll certainly buy some in FDE. I saw a video on YouTube of them being used in a FN SCAR Mk. 16, and they dropped free from the magwell and ran just fine on full-auto...I can't wait for them to start shipping.
