Guys,

After a slight confusion with the organizers, we finally got a confirmed booth #155, so stop by when you get the chance.

I'll be there (my 3rd) and I'm none of the above. Just go to the web site and register as a "Guest of the Show".

how do you register as a guest of the show? When I tried to register, after selecting attendee, it asked for the company I was with and also my FFL license.

Next field says: "If you are not a liscensed dealer please describe your industry affiliation."

Bingo! ;)

You know, as an exhibitor, I wish the organizers will at least allow one day for the general shooting enthusiast to come in and enjoy the show. I personally think that companies underestimate the power of the 'people'.

Most pay too much attention to the gun rag writers and such and not enough time to properly educate the end users on what they can expect on all the new products and such. I guess a lot of companies forget that without the support of folks like you guys, where will we be now?

I guess (in their defense) that there's a lot to be dealt with when you allow everyone in and folks usually have lots of Qs and such BUT I still believe in the support of the shooters. I lost track of how many times we've gotten a call from stores asking to be dealers because their local shooters bugged the hell outta them to carry i-SHOT. Nuf said, I'll end up pissing off some folks ;)

I was surprised we went there only because out of all the world class restraunts in Las Vegas, we went to a off the beaten track (for tourists), run of the mill Thai restruant. I have no problem with it, but it was an unexpected choice.

444, I understand what you mean by that and like yourself, I am a foodie but there are restaurants in Chinatown Plaza that can be considered sorta 'world class'. I have clients coming in from the Far East just to get a sampling of restaurants like Harbor Palace, Kim Tar Seafood and Sam Woo BBQ. So if you folks are still planning to meet 'off the beaten track', I'd suggest you consider one of these. Valkman's in Vegas so let's send him ahead of time as our local scout :D

Last year on Jan 31st, Chinatown hosted their yearly New Year celebrations and it was a blast. I don't know if they are planning the same next year.

On that note, our best wishes to all of you for a Prosperous New Year.

The Chinese New Year does not fall at the same time (on our calendar) each year. The new year falls on Feb 9 this time so you will likely not see celebrations during the show weekend. :( [But last year it was January 22...so who knows.]

What's this? You want me to go eat at great places and check them out?

Sam Woo BBQ sounds good, might have to try that one anyway! :)

I game for a change and we should settle it by the weekend before I would think , So any locals go check out some other places that we can seat around 20 or so together.
Thanks Jon

I'll be attending SHOT for the first time! I'll be in LV 1/27 - 2/1 and can meet whoever wherever.

444, I'll be in Pahrump 1/25 - 1/27 (taking a FrontSight rifle class) as well; staying at The Nugget there.

Anyone who'd like my cell number (or wants to send me theirs) drop a PM.

Tara

Did everyone here see the suggestion in the other thread to eat at Battista's? It's a Italian place that's right on the Strip and it's been there forever and supposed to be really good. Sounds good to me!

Just registered my tickets tonight. My wife and I will be attending for the first time. I'm still new to THR, but would like to attend the dinner to meet some of you.

I may make it. A buddy and I may go under a dealer's FFL. However, I just started looking into it and hotels are hard to find at this point.

I was just at a frogman (BUD/S class 105) 25th reunion in LV, and we had our big dinner at "Battista's Hole In The Wall" Italian restaurant. It's located across Flamingo from Bally's, between the Barbary Coast casino/hotel on the strip, and the Bourbon Streen casino/hotel a block off the strip.

They handled our group of about 40 folks no problem, but did want it all on one check. We had appointed a "treasurer" to pay with a credit card, and we all paid him cash. If folks know this deal up front, it works fine. We had a separate private room all to ourselves! (Battista's is divided into lots of dining areas of various sizes. Table wine is free.)

After dinner, we all just migrated about 100 feet to the bar at Bourbon Street. Beers were only about $2 a pop, and they let us shove a bunch of tables together. We stayed there until the cows came home, no problemo.

That's my suggestion. Since it's my suggestion, I guess it's fair to volunteer myself as the credit card man, and make arrangements with the staff at Battista's to handle a group.

But I'm open to anything, whatever y'all decide. Chinese again would be fine. I'll be there!

That sounds pretty good to me ( read the book when I got back last year, Nice).

Maybe we can get a mod to put a post with a thumbtack on it so we could get a good head count and some numbers down.
What night would everyone prefer. either is fine for me either friday or sat. I think we might get a fwe more folks for friday but I will be there for both evenings so either is fine.

Put me down for 2

What days are we talking about ? The website says the show is being held January 28-31, 2005. I am working on the 29, and 31.
Ok, I guess I didn't read the previous post. Friday is the day for me. I work Saturday.

Ok, now what time ?

By the way, for those that might be wondering: this restraunt is located behind the Barbary Coast hotel, and across the street from Bally's. It is on the corner of Flamingo and Audrie.

So we've decided on Battista's, Friday night? That works for me. Anytime after the SHOT closes for the night, with a little clean up time? Maybe 7?
Matt

Is there any way by which someone like me could get in? The age thing isn't an issue because I'm already ahem, cough-cough, 16 years of age, so the problem is industry affiliation. Could one exploit some loophole?
