While this is an Activism post, I’m starting it here because more of you are likely to see it.

We don’t need to start another NRA bashing thread, but we can do something positive to encourage change. While I used to ignore the board of directors ballot, I now believe it’s important for all of us to focus our votes on one or a few people who want to work for change.

This year Frank Tait is on the ballot, and he’s the only one I am voting for.

There may be other excellent candidates, but by focusing on him we stand a better chance of getting at least one person on the board who appears to be serious about working for improvements.

Here’s an article from Ammoland which goes into more detail -

https://www.ammoland.com/2022/02/bullet-vote-frank-tait-nra-board-directors-2022/

This may not do much immediately, but it should be more effective than just complaining.

When considering trashing your NRA directors ballot, would you do the same with your local and national election ballots? There isn’t much good to choose from there, either.
Me, I’ll vote in any election I’m eligible for.
Good post and good questions, btw.

Normally I would agree but given the current state of the NRA bylaws your vote has zero effect on WLP and the senior leadership of the NRA.
I think that this is a fair point - voting is supposed to be a way to choose those who will lead us. If the election does not provide that benefit - is it really an election?

I was an NRA member for one year when I got into firearms about a decade ago. Haven't renewed since that first year due to all the BS and corrupt leadership.

I simply wrote on the ballot, "I will got give any more financial support until WLP is gone." with a Sharpie and returned the ballot. Probably a waste of a stamp but it seemed the best I could do with it given the current circumstances.
I write LETS GO WAYNE!!! and NO $$$ WAYNE IS GONE.
I do that on every mail piece I get from the NRA

This is the correct answer. Is it a waste of a stamp? Perhaps, but I send my vote every year as a long time Life Member regardless, because I can't complain about Wayne if I don't even bother to vote. Imagine if every disenfranchised member did that.

Over the decades I have been a Voting member, I have been more than passing annoyed that the ballot does not allow for write-in candidates--even as I recognize the reasons why.

Each of us must needs do as our conscious requires and directs.

How do you know who to vote for or not to vote for??
Knowing nothing about any of them and I am not gonna read the biographies of "up to 25" candidates
and they all pleaded an allegiant to Wayne. that’s how you get on the list!

Regardless of whether the allegations are true or not at this point they really have little bearing. What does matter is while Wayne remains in the position he's in he and the rest of the board are currently a sea anchor which could potentially drag the whole ship under. We have to understand a lot of this may (and probably is) politically motivated, getting rid of or making impotent the largest, most powerful 2nd Amendment advocate group would be a crown any anti-gunner would love to wear. Deserved or not they have to go and new leadership voted in by the members.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the antigun organizations (Everytown, etc.) are just as corrupt as the NRA, except that they don't get the scrutiny of the press.
you better believe it!!! when huge sum of money is involved, someone is lining pockets and greasing palms

Don't know for a fact if any of these have their own PACs, wouldn't be surprised if they were at least a little shady but here's the list of the 15 highest paid non-profit CEOs in the country. One notable name is not on that list..........
