I have one of those, its not nearly as nice as the picture you posted, but I do have a box of 22 win auto for it if I ever decide to take it out, there actually a really cool design, the first semi automatic take down

I have a question
does this qualify for a C&R firearm?
I have though about clearing a spot in my safe for something new and this one never has been used

I am pretty sure that it qualifies for C&R simply due to age as the original 1903 model was last made in 1919 and the later 03 models were made up to the early 1930's (assuming it is not the later model 63).

Yes all the old girls based on "this design" are C&R....I have been eyeballing 351 and 401's for quite a while now....these keep coming up as well as their newer cousins 63 IIRC.

Also as I remember things....and don't take this for truth, check yourself, the 63 is ok with most modern ammo.....They are a little like the auto pistols they do not care for modern super speedy ammo, so stick with standard ammo, or it could be like my woodsman that just loves sub sonic 22's. The older gals had a special diet of early smokeless 22 ammo, that is not to the same spec as even modern "slow" 22 ammo.

I am lucky enough to have a few old rim fire guns and find they shoot MUCH better with things that do not move so fast, Be they old single shots, pumps, or whatever....they just shoot better with sub sonic ammo.....and now that people are hanging cans off of light and sleek rimfire guns for some reason you can find it.

Oddly enough I find shooting this slow stuff out of a rifle the need for ears is....well not needed, I have louder air rifles (measured louder).
